You know that feeling you get like you’re being watched? Well, walk into most High Street fashion stores this season and you’ll feel it alright. Staring out at you from jumpers, scarves and jewellery you’ll find animal faces. Yes, owls are a hoot, foxes are, well, foxy…

Inject a bit of roar (get it?) sex appeal into an otherwise baggy jumper with Topshop’s Knitted animal face jumper, £42.

To bring out your inner fox, how about Marks & Spencer’s Rabbit & Fox Print Sweat top. Hurry though, as it’s from a limited collection and my guess is it will race out of stores pretty quickly. Oh scrap that, just looked and it has, as predicted sold out. So, either keep checking back online or alternatively opt for this beauty from Peter Jensen . PJ reckons it’s a Jumper Dress but personally for the sake of those around me I’d wear it over leggings or skinnies.

The animal trend is also one that the kids can take part in too! Cath Kidston, she who has made spots and cowboys tablecloths a must-have for any ‘trendy’ household, has designed this very cute ‘Hello Horsey’ jumper and at a very reasonable £28. Christmas pressie, anyone?

You can also find some gorgeous animal jewellery online. I particularly like Wonsuponatime’s bunny necklace, £10 and Betsey Johnson’s Critter Boost Giraffe Pendant, £28 (both on my Pinterest board).

Don’t stop at jewellery and fashion though, even nails can get the animal treatment. There’s a great owl ‘how to’ pin on my board which I will give a go later and if successful will post up at a later date!

RANDOM BLEAT: Looking at these jumpers has given me a flashback to my childhood when my Nan, a brilliant knitter, made me a jumper with a country scene, complete with sheep and fields (she had scaled it down from an adult version she had made my Mum!) If only I’d kept it!
