They’re pink, pretty and have fairies all over them, yes, Juicy Lucy toiletries for girls are the sort of things that make little (and big) girly girls whoop with delight. Here’s our review…

Our daughter, Ferne, is five, going on 15 at times but to us she is very much still a five-year-old. In the past I’ve been quite surprised by beauty collections and make-up aimed at her age-group as I think she’s far too young to be upstairs in her room applying eye shadow. However, I was very pleased when I saw the Juicy Lucy range of girls’ toiletries as they weren’t ‘teen led’ and instead were covered in fairies hearts and yes, you’ve guessed it, general pinkness!

The range includes bath products such as strawberry-scented bath fizzers (£4), lip balm duo ( £4), hairbrush and sparkly hair spray (£5) and Sparkle fairy nails (with peelable nail polish £6) and is stocked exclusively in Sainsbury’s where it’s currently discounted – just in time for stocking filling (pink, sparkly ones of course!)

Ferne’s eyes were immediately drawn to the brush and spray set which comes in a little purse and off she went to her room to try it out. I have to say I was quite surprised she stuck it out with the brush as she has long and therefore tangly hair and we usually have to use a prof hair brush. She then asked me to put the spray in for her and I was pleased to see that it was quite subtle. It also smells really nice too. It’s ideal for parties/when friends come round to play and the good

Bath-time suddenly got far more exciting because of the fizzers. I must admit I did find them a bit tricky to get out of the packaging (they could do with a piece you pull to undo the wrapping) and I thought the fizziness could be, erm fizzier. However, the kids didn’t seem put out at all and stood over the bath watching as the water turned into a pretty pink colour. (These also smelt lovely).

The lip balms have been duly dolloped on (which means much of the face gets covered) but it’s cold and she gets chapped skin so it’s quite handy really! Ferne also got to try to the Lucky Lip Balm Charm which you can dangle from your bag or pencil case. We put it on her school bag and by all accounts Ferne and her friends have been putting it on when they come back in from playtime!

In my opinion the Juicy Lucy toiletries range is very cute and pretty, without being gimmicky, and offers good value for money. I’d happily buy from the range for Ferne (or a friend) and reckon they’d make really make great stocking fillers and presents for little girls aged 4+ who are, let’s face it, still little fluttery fairies themselves.
