THIS IS A GUEST POST by Ice Cream lover, Ana

When it comes to a ‘kitchen appliance wish list’  an ice cream machine would probably at the bottom of the list. However, that all changed last weekend when I borrowed the Cuisinart ICE-20 Automatic 1-1/2-Quart Ice Cream Maker from a friend of mine. Here’s what happened:

Cuisinart and its products are new to me but a quick search online told me that it was founded by Carl Sontheimer in 1971, and has been known throughout many countries for its food processors – thanks to the endorsement of Julia Child and James Beard.

Moving forward, I looked for its manual in the box. Initially, I was nervous as I am not good with instructions but it was actually easy to understand.

The Cuisinart ICE-20 is automatic, so there’s no rock salt, ice or hand churning needed. It features a heavy-duty motor that can make ice cream, sorbet or frozen yogurt or drinks in 20 to 30 minutes – just enough time to allow you to do something else – like play a game of Foxy Bingo!

The only down side to the Ice Cream maker is that I was only able to do one batch at a time because the bowl needs to be refrozen in between. Don’t let that small fault discourage you; I would still recommend this ice cream maker for all types of homemakers, especially those who are on the look out for inexpensive and compact kitchen appliances.

Here are the specs of the Cuisinart ICE-20 Automatic 1-1/2-Quart Ice Cream Maker:
Electric ice-cream maker produces up to 1-1/2 quarts in about 20 minutes
Easy to use–no salt or ice required; chills to desired consistency
Transparent top locks into place for safety and convenient monitoring
Non-stick chamber ensures quick cleanup; instruction booklet with recipes included
Measures 10 by 10 by 15 inches; 3-year limited warranty
