If Noah was to go on Mastermind his specialist subject, without a shadow of a doubt, would be Moshi Monsters. He loves them. He talks about them all the time. He creates his own and he plays them online and with his friends. So, imagine how excited he was when we went along to Moshi HQ to have a look at some great Christmas gifts…

The Moshi Mummy Blogger Event, the first of its kind, was held at Mind Candy’s offices, home to the developers of the hit global children’s brand.

Sleeves were rolled-up straight away and Noah and Ferne immediately got stuck in playing with the Moshi customisable house and Bobble Bots Moshi Monster Moshlings. They read magazines, looked at trading cards and code breaker packs and made all sorts of coo-ing noises. In particular they were drawn to a couple of new Moshi products. The first was the Moshi Monster APP Monster (£19.99) which works with your iPhone or iPad Touch. To play it you download the free APP and then fit the Moshi Monster cover. The Moshi comes to life on your screen and blinks, moves and makes noises. Noah and Ferne, as you can see in my picture, were both really taken with how Katsuma went to sleep in their arms.

The second was the Moshlings Theme Park DS game (£29.99 or £34.99 3DS). Noah spent a lot of time playing and trying to work his way through the six zones by building attractions and rescuing scattered Moshlings. This is definite Christmas list material!

Later, whilst Noah chatted and gave his suggestions to Darren (user interaction expert) Grandma had a go at colouring-in some monster wallpaper while Ferne had her face painted as Poppett. Afterwards she rewarded how patiently she’d sat but stuffing her face with a Moshi cake (homemade by one of the Mind Candy designers). Oh, and we also got a sneak peek at the new Moshi Show which is going to be out soon – it’s fun, it’s fast and just the right side of crazy!

We left Moshi HQ with some fantastic Christmas present ideas, a very generous goodie bag (thank you) and a real sense that the team behind Moshi Monsters believe and care about their product and work hard to make both kids and parents happy.

  1. Wow what a day for your wee ones, that would have been a dream come true for my son and daughter, they are Moshi\’s mad its all they play with and talk about :)
It is one of the few websites I actively encourage them to spend time on. I agree with you that Mind Candy seem to really care about the quality of the material available for our children, it comes across in the detail and endless interaction on the site.
Our christmas lists are already written, and there\’s not much on there that doesn\’t have a Moshi theme lol

  2. Hi Lesley. Thanks for your comments. Yes, it was a dream come true and it was great to see their faces. I don’t think they could really believe they were in Moshi HQ. In fact when they got home my husband said ‘just imagine telling your friends you’ve been to Moshi HQ’ and Noah said ‘they’d never believe me!’
The Mind Candy team – in the office and the PRs were so fantastic – very inspirational. I loved telling my friends all about it (and they sort of believed me!) ha ha
