page contents Lovely jubbly (if a wee bit soggy) Jubilee | mummy rates it

I thought I’d share a few Jubilee snaps with you – taken yesterday at the River Pageant viewed (or not) from Battersea Park.

I must admit I did have to drag my other half along to yesterday’s event. Let’s just say he’s not a Royalist. I’m not sure I am really but I am a Partyist so any excuse to get on some fancy pants and let my hair down is always a must. Our children have inherited a love of anything party/festival and really were troopers (despite leaky wellies).

As we left the house the rain had stopped and the skies were clearing up and all was looking good. The train journey was easy, not too packed and we got to Battersea Park in no time. When we got into the park it was strangely quiet – until we got riverside. Needless to say there were tons of people, about 8 rows by the riverside so we had no chance of seeing a thing.

Instead we took to a little side path and managed to put the kids on top of a fence and be able to see a screen. Just as the Royal barge came pass I managed to get up onto the fence and see it go past. No sooner had HRH chugged past and we were off to enjoy the rest of the festival… and then it rained… and rained… and rained (but we still stayed until the end!)

  1. Sounds like a lovely day! We watched it at home on the telly! Not very patriotic but didn’t fancy getting to London and back soaking wet with two babies! I bet the atmosphere was amazing though and the photos look lovely x

    • Hi Sinead. Yes, there was a great atmosphere. London looks fab with all the Union Jacks everywhere. My Mum and I are going up to the Mall tomorrow to watch the parade. We are talking about getting there at 7am! Hopefully the atmosphere will be just as good. I picked up a tip yesterday and we are taking something to stand on – using my old Tummy Tub (well not mine, Ferne’s!) Hope you enjoy the rest of the Jubilee with your family. xx

  2. Its England, we’re used to pretending its not raining! Looks like a lovely day
