Just for YOU Uncategorized — 21 March 2012

There’s a craze sweeping the High Street and I can’t help but get all dizzy just thinking about it. Yep, designer collaborations are everywhere this year and the good news is that it means, with a little organisation, you can have DVF, Marni and Orla Kiely hanging in your wardrobe at a fraction of the usual cost.

If you love designer but don’t have the pennies to match it then designer collaborations are like a sprinkling of fairy dust. However, the golden rule with designer collabs is organisation. Make sure you note the dates that the collection goes on sale. Fashion-lovers are a hungry bunch and they won’t wait for you turn up before they snap up all the goodies.

So, if you’ve already missed out on the best bits from Mary Katrantzou at TopShop (I’ve got the T-shirt (really) – it’s quite clingy but the print is awesome. Still a few pieces left), Marni for H & M (it got nasty in store but again, a few pieces available online) and Orla Kiely for Uniqlo (I’m officially not talking to myself about missing that one). The good news is though that there is still more to come. Just make sure your diary is updated and your card’s ready to splash.

Coming soon: 3 more Designer Collaborations

Diane von Furstenberg for Gap kids. I never thought I’d have wardrobe-envy about my daughter’s clothes but yes, your little girls can have a bit of DVF thanks to DVF’s collab with Gap. Previews of the collection show gorgeous print sandals (they go up to size 5 adults – and I’m a six – bummer) and a mini version of her wrap dress for which she is famous. On sale 28 March 2012.

Olivia Rubin at Dorothy Perkins. Famed for her gorgeous prints and adored by Fearne Cotton, Cheryl Cole, Tess Daly and Jamie Winston. With jewellery from £7.50 and dresses from £45 this one is going to be a biggee. When? 24th April (watch this space)

Clements Ribeiro for Evans. The fab duo, responsible for Adele’s dresses at the Grammy’s and the Brits, have teamed up with Evans and designed the Swan collection for sizes 14-32. Expect prints-a-plenty with a vintage feel. When? 31st March 2012, 7am
