Designer collaborations are everywhere at the moment. In fact, if you go into a High Street store and you don’t find one you begin to feel a bit cheated. Bonmarche is no different – they have a plus-size range designed by David Emanuel (he co-designed Princess Diana’s wedding dress) but check this out – he’s been doing it for over 5-years! I had to take a look…

Thankfully frou frou and frills are out right now, so put away any thoughts of Emanuel’s collection being like Di’s dress. Instead, he has created a range of gorgeous plus size party dresses that are both stylish and inexpensive. Looking through his collection I found a really pretty pleat dress which comes in the essential LBD or in a foxy and very festive red.

Better still, as all of us Apples know, the wrap (this dress is mock wrap) is a great shape for showing off a curvy bust whilst detracting from a fuller tummy. This dress is a very purse-friendly £35 so if you add in a sparkly necklace at £6 and the scarf, which you can use as a wrap around your upper arms, £10 you’re talking about just over £50 for the entire outfit. Bargain!

On further inspection I found some lovely separates that could be used to update something you might already have at home – my favourite being the black mesh shrug which is a bargain at £20 (I’ve put a heart next to it just to show how much I lurve it). This little number could work with anything – over dresses or with trousers or a skirt. I’d add some bling around the neck and then keep everything else pretty simple.

The pencil skirt is a classic, a bit retro 50s and made to make you wiggle! I wore one very similar to this the other week and had to add in an extra five minutes to get anywhere – no striding possible! You won’t believe the price either, it’s an absolute snip at only £16.50 (yes, you read that right). Oh, and did I mention it also has a tummy control panel? Perfect if you overdo the mince pies.

I also love the rich colour of the blue top. The detailing around the neckline is great for attracting the eye and detracting it from other problem areas – it also means no necklace is necessary so instead you could invest in some sparkly earrings like the ones shown here for £2.50.

Fake fur is a fave of mine. I’ve got a brown fake fur coat that I get out every winter and I feel pretty glam whenever I’m wearing it (even if it’s just with a pair of jeans). Also designed by David Emanueal the Bonmarche fake fur is an online exclusive – ‘designer’ and ‘exclusive’ – I can hardly take any more!

Have you shopped at Bonmarche before? Have you got your festive party outfits sorted? I’d love to know what you’re wearing to the office do or a night out with the girls…
