About me:

My name is Michelle Hannell and I am the author of www.mummyratesit.co.uk. Previous to writing this blog I worked at SHE and Good Housekeeping magazines, as a journalist @ thisislondon.co.uk (The Evening Standard’s website) and as Deputy Editor @ newwoman.co.uk. I also trained as a YMCA Personal Trainer so have an interest in all things health and fitness.

In 2006 and 2007 (a busy few years) we had two children: Noah 6 and Ferne 4.5, who are now both at school. I fit blogging between being a Mum, wife, friend, doing the school run, taxiing kids to Beavers, swimming, circus skills, football, tennis and ballet, taking part in local campaigning (in particular to save the Upper Norwood Joint Library) and completing a creative writing course with writingclasses.co.uk.

About my blog:

My blog, www.mummyratesit.co.uk is for Mums and about Mums. I write independent reviews of children’s toys and products as well as parenting rants and ramblings. My reviews tend to be focused on products aimed at children of Primary School age (as this is the market I know best). My very own ‘testers’ (one pink, one blue) help me put toys and products through their paces and give their opinions on them. Believe me, sometimes they come out with some real gems!

I also write a Just for YOU page, which has proved very popular. This is aimed at Mums with reviews and stories about fashion, beauty and lifestyle. Both sections of my site are updated regularly.

I am highly engaged in social media and am a member of blogging communities such as Tots100, BritMums and LoveAllBlogs. I also tweet @mummyratesit and have a facebook page. I am also slowly getting to grips with YouTube, Pinterest and Google+

I positively encourage and welcome comments, feedback and advice from anyone who cares to take the time to contact me, so don’t be shy.
